Amazing service

This company helped us move across the state, and we couldn’t €™be happier with their service. Everything arrived in perfect condition, and the team was very accommodating.

If you’re looking for a reliable moving company, look no further than Brooklyn Moving Inc. Their attention to detail and customer service is unmatched. They made our move a breeze!

Illegal Practices, Stolen Items, Fraud.

Do NOT use this company. Brooklyn Moving Co ended up charging us double after I was lied to and told that the top 3 ft of truck could not be utilized due to DOT regulations. Then charged additional 1400 for a Harley to be moved and guaranteed it would be safe and not damaged as they charged additional 500 for a bulky item fee. When load arrived bike buried under boxes causing almost 6000 in damages. Toolboxes that were shrink-wrapped and drawers taped closed had been cut open and tools stolen. Furniture was damaged and Brooklyn Moving will NOT respond to arbitration or their own insurance carrier. They will lie, cheat and steal to get your business!

Terrible cheaters!! Request for additional charge after pick up items.

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Stay away from this company!! It worths negative points, not even zero on the review. We are having a move through broker, Move Smart for 8 items and we had a quote for the minimum charge, 800+ cubic feet which we only used 410 cubic feet. We sent the photos to the broker which subcontracted Brooklyn Moving to conduct the move.

We were never been told there was extra charge for bulky item as we expected the price should be inclusive (it is expensive for 8 items). Upon picked up of our furnitures, the driver was late. We were told that they should arrive between 10am-2pm. They didn't shown up till 6pm. Over 4 hours late. Driver talked to me and didn't let us know there was an additional charge of $125 as bulky item. The invoice was not billed with extra charge on spot. It was scratched and rewrote with bulky item charge of $125. Now, Brooklyn Moving requested for additional $125 after our furnitures were being picked up. Talked to Neveen from Brooklyn Moving the next working day who claimed that she is CS Manager. It was the first time we heard of the additional charge of $125 as bulky items and she informed me on the phone about all policies. She told me that it was listed on the contract. Why was the charged informed and imposed to customer AFTER the pickup? I have been told that bulky items are basic charges. I never signed anything with them. I complained it to both Move Smart and Brooklyn Moving. They are throwing the ball back and forth. Neveen even cut my line on the 2nd day when she called me. They are cheaters!!

No wonder the reviews were so bad. We never picked this vendor at the first place. Now, they are requesting us to pay for the additional bulky item fee or send the item back to our original address. What a terrible, unethical business entity!!

We, as victims, did not pick this vendor, I have always looked up on the reviews before selecting business partners!! However, in this case, we did not choose them as movers..:((.

The worst experience.

As if moving isn’t stressful enough. This company is dishonest and disorganized. The worst customer service ever. I was charged 3-times my quote and had to pay because I was stuck. They were to pack some items, like the kitchen. Lampshades were thrown in boxes with other items so all were damaged when I unpacked. My memory foam mattress was folded in half. When I pointed the out they “fixed” it. Basically removed all the protective wrapping and never rewrapped it.

In the initial conversations, I was directed to their stellar DOT rating..not that it mattered. I was moving states. They take your stuff to the warehouse in your state..then contract with a 3rd party to. I’ve and unpack in the other state. The date I expected my stuff was actually the “first available”.

It two weeks to get my things. When I did the crew commented that they had never seen boxes so damaged. Many of the contents were damaged and unusable. In addition, I was missing items. I have never heard from the company again.

They nickel and dime you everywhere. Not only was the estimate to move my items 3x the quote, I was also hit on the delivery side. You only get a certain number of feet from truck to door and one flight (which is 8 steps). After that the dollars start adding up again, especially if they need to rent a smaller truck because an 18 wheeler won’t fit. All of that is due before they will even open the truck.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If you are goin with a broker of sorts, make sure they don’t farm you out to this company.

Too Many Damaged Items/Boxes to List

We did not hire this company. Landmark Moving Services, who we chose due to their great reviews, contracted our move out unbeknownst to us. We were quoted $6,900. Ended up paying over $10,000 once Brooklyn got involved.

They showed up late for pick up in January. Didn't have room for all our stuff & were supposed to come back first thing the following Monday. No one was coming until we finally called them. They didn't show up until late evening.

Beginning of February we called & said we are ready for our stuff. They told us 21 days. When 21 days came & went with no correspondence from them we called and they now said 21 working days. Finally on March 11th they showed up late evening. When they were done we realized much of our stuff was missing; fridge, box springs, couch, etc. We were appalled at the manner in which our stuff was handled. See pics for just a few examples. Called & spoke with Jasmine & Sharice. Refused to help or listen.

We still haven't gotten a firm update on when we will get the rest of our items. I'd check to see if my TV's are working, but guess what? The box with all the cords and remotes is also missing.

I don't ever complain, but this company is terrible. This is my first ever review on Google. I signed up for an account specifically to let people know how bad this company is. If I could give 0 stars I would.

They deserve five stars

I received a call quickly and they were able to help that same day. The two gentlemen, Louis and Manny who helped me were very professional and competent. I admired how they communicated with each other and navigated a very tricky job of moving a large piece of furniture up the stairs and over a tricky banister. They were also very nice people. Thank you!

Very Happy

Noel and Emmanuel were excellent with their moving service. They got the job done in a very reasonable amount of time and took time to ensure safety of our furniture. They dealt with hauling extremely heavy furniture up multiple steps on a very HOT day. Both guys were very professional and nice. Though our start time was delayed a bit due to a flat tire, they still got the job done quick! Very grateful for their services.

My bed was completely destroyed. Bed was intact from pick up at my house to the Brooklyn warehouse. No concern and very little help to resolve on the 851.00 bed. This was a trundle with drawers and only half arrived to my new location no headboard , footboard and no rails only broken wood

Official company response

Dear Marcel, We were surprised by your recent review regarding the delivery of your trundle bed, as it was delivered to you two years ago. After the delivery, we personally inquired about your satisfaction with the process, and you expressed your gratitude for the excellent service.

Over the past two years, we have made several attempts to address your claim, as it appeared to have been neglected on your end without any progress. However, upon your recent contact with us, we assured you that we would reopen your claim. In addition, as a gesture of goodwill, we have increased the compensation for your claim more than 4 times the allocated amount.

We understand that you purchased the trundle bed on or about 2020 and it was delivered to you in 2022, two years after its use. It is important to note that the current market value for a similar bed in 2024 ranges from $150 to $400, rather than exceeding $800.

We kindly request that you proceed with your claim, taking into consideration the efforts we have made to improve your overall experience, even beyond the usual time limit.

Sincerely,
Brooklyn moving inc

Terrible service - would not recommend or endorse.

The quality of service from Gold Standard Relocation and their subcontractor Brooklyn Moving Inc. were not satisfactory for the level of service discussed with the sales agent from SGL. Items arrived past the due date with furniture broken, damaged and tagged boxes missing. The moving company -Brooklyn Moving Inc. has three other lot numbers mixed in with my belongs. The Boxes were broken open and in some cases other things taped to the top of my boxes that were not find.

I was told these things happen with such a long distance move and to file a claim. Many of the items broken were high end furnishing which cannot be easily replace at $0.60 a pound.

I would not recommend either Gold Standard Relocation or Brooklyn Moving Inc.

Best movers!

I was quite hesitant to go forward with Brooklyn movers after the negative reviews that I have read but I decided to go with them because they gave me the best price after two other moving companies charged me at least $1000.00 more. I had to take the risk and fortunately it was the right decision! At pickup they wrapped and packed all of my furniture and assured me everything would be fine along my trip to California from Minnesota. When my items arrived they unwrapped the furniture and everything was in the same condition! Great price with great service! Definitely recommend them!! Thank you!!

Great service great price.

I had a great experience with Brooklyn moving. After intensive search they offered a reasonable price for a full service. The movers came on time and were very respectful. I requested a month of storage which was included in my package for free but 2 weeks later I was ready to accept delivery they were cooperative and added me on the schedule last mint and I received my items complete and there was no damages.

Smooth move overall good experience.

My movers came on time they were polite and fast. I added some extra items but the extra charge was not too high within the range I had planned for. My items were shipped after 10 days I had to get a shuttle since the truck wasn't allowed on my narrow road cost me a little extra but the items came complete and undamaged so over all good experience.

Five Star Experience!

After getting quotes from several moving companies, I decided to go with Brooklyn Moving Inc. for my recent transition from the suburbs into the city. In addition to offering me the most affordable quote, they were also extremely accommodating over the phone. The person I spoke to walked me through the process (as I had never used a moving company before) and reassured me that my belongings would be in good hands. Moving can be stressful and they did everything they could to reduce my anxieties.

On the morning my move was scheduled for, several of their movers arrived on time and ready to get things done. They wrapped and packed everything in my apartment quickly and with ease. I did not feel that any of my things were in danger of breaking or being damaged as they packed their truck. Additionally, the movers were polite and professional throughout the entire process and made sure to keep me up to date on their progress. All of my boxes were labeled with either the contents or room they belonged in. If they were unsure of how to label a box, they made sure to ask rather than leaving me to guess later down the road.

Later that day, I was pleasantly surprised when my belongings were promptly delivered to my new apartment. The movers placed all of my furniture where I asked them to, and neatly stacked all of my boxes in the appropriate rooms. None of the boxes were crushed or ripped, which was a great first sign. None of my furniture was noticeably damaged other than the usual wear and tear from years of use. Payment went smoothly and I was billed only slightly more than the price I was quoted.

Upon closer inspection when unpacking later that evening and the following several days, I was highly impressed by how thorough the movers at Brooklyn Moving Inc. were when packing my belongings. All of my fragile items were wrapped individually and boxed neatly. They even made use of my kitchen towels to help ensure none of my plates cracked, which I found to be quite creative. The way each box was packed made setting up my new apartment as stress-free as something like that could possibly be. Having each box labeled also made it easy to find things quickly throughout the week, as it was a while before I could find the time to fully unpack.

After reading several moving tips online, I had decided to create a general inventory list to ensure nothing got lost in transition, complete with several dozen photos. I recommend anyone who is moving to do the same. Nothing appeared to be missing, and all of my valuables were accounted for. Even though everyone who came into contact with my belongings came off as trustworthy, having the inventory list gave me peace of mind.

I highly recommend using Brooklyn Moving Inc. for your next move. All of their employees demonstrated professionalism and expertise from start to finish and they truly made the process simple and stress-free. Five stars!

Treated my Belongings as their own!

They say the only thing as stressful as death is a move.. I'm rather inexperienced with both. When I find out that my job would be transferring me, I didn't know where to begin with the moving process. I started talking to my parents and their friends and asked what was most important in the whole process. They reiterated time and time again that I needed to make a full inventory list of my belongings and that I needed to be present, observing the whole time.. as these are my most cherished belongings. I wanted a company that could make me feel a little bit at ease--assuage my anxieties if you will. I wanted them to treat all of my things as if they were their own.
After asking around by word of mouth, I began to look online to see which companies were the most recommended. Brooklin Moving INC came up time and time again. The next morning I called. I began the call by rambling and I knew that the lady on the other end could tell that I was a bit nervous. She immediately put my anxieties at ease and then proceeded to talk me through the whole process. This was the first time I felt like I KNEW I had chosen the right company.
As the day of the move approached, I found my anxieties about it once again rising. The second time that I felt as if I KNEW I chose the right company was when all of the workers arrived 5-10 minutes early. I observed as they wrapped and packed everything and I watched them wrap my dishes in my kitchen towels. The professionalism was uncanny. Everyone was polite and professional. If any workers were unsure of how to label the boxes, they made sure to ask which I very much appreciated - I had read/heard in my research that this would be a problem. When I arrived at my new home, I observed all of the furniture in its exact correct location and in every room, there was a line of boxes stacked neatly along the wall. This was the third time I KNEW I chose the right company.
As the days passed, I unpacked and as I had observed, all boxes WERE labeled correctly. Furthermore, with the inventory I had made, I could be completely certain that not a single item was either damaged or missing. The cherry on top of the cake was when the price I was billed was almost exact to that price which I was quoted.
They say there is a first for everything and this was both my first time moving and my first experience with Brooklyn moving company. If anyone finds themselves in a similar position, I highly recommend checking out this company. A lot of businesses have robots that answer all of the phones and it might take you up to 15 minutes to talk to a real actual human person. When I called Brooklyn Moving Co. It was apparent they were different because a human answered on the third ring and as aforementioned, she immediately began to assuage my anxieties.
5 STARS!

Nice and easy.

I had a great move I was a little nervous and doubtful at first as the price was suspiciously low compared to other companies as my budget was very tight I crossed my fingers and scheduled the move. They came on time and were very respectful started packing things and they were very professional a few days later I got a follow up call and my delivery was scheduled. Had a missing headboard I called customer service and it was redelivered in 3 weeks free of charge took a little long but can't expect more for a head board at least it arrived in one piece. Over all very satisfied.

Long-distance move from San Francisco, CA to Arlington, VA

Move from California to Virginia.

Do you value your time and sanity? If the answer is yes, don’t work with Brooklyn Moving.

Where do I even begin with this review?

I worked with a broker who linked me with Brooklyn Moving. Originally I was quoted $2600 for 1 bedroom plus a motorcycle. Mind you, the bedroom is LITERALLY a bedroom, no kitchen, no living room.

Bedframe, nightstand, large mirror, desk, dresser and boxes of items.

The movers show up 3 hours LATER than the window they originally gave and before they can even move anything, they tell me that it is going to be double the price for the amount of items. So now I am spending over 4k for A BEDROOM OF FURNITURE AND A MOTORCYCLE.

THEN! They tell me they can’t take the bike because they have the incorrect truck and won’t be able to get it into the truck. But they ASSURED ME that they would “pick up between 9pm-12am that evening”. Low and behold, they didn’t show up. The foreman stopped picking up my calls, customer support never called me back. So 8am the next day, I am hounding customer support and the foreman to get an answer. Mind you I needed to leave at 5am to start my journey across country, which I ended up having to delay a full day because of this fiasco.

Finally get a hold of customer support midday, they tell me they can’t even pick up until the following day. Told me that it would be fine to leave the bike outside and my roommate could just sign off. However, I didn’t trust that they would even pick it up given they LOVE to make false promises. Since I am a resourceful woman, I decided to hell with Brooklyn Moving and hired a different logistics company that was able to pick up day of and delivered ALL before I even got my items from Brooklyn Moving at my east coast address. (This is a different story in itself, please keep reading)

Note that BM only offered to give me $100 off if I kept moving the bike with them. Which I laughed at. At this point, I didn’t trust they would pick up the bike that I am leaving on the side of the street in a metropolitan city, let alone even pack it correctly. So again, decided no way they would move the item for me and went with someone else. They did refund me the “bulky item fee” and for the space, totaling about $500 but still my move cost way more than what it would cost with someone else to move an ENTIRE APARTMENT.

PLUS, the entire organization is so disorganized. Every person I talked to, I had to tell them where to find the note of my correct balance owed on delivery.

Let’s fast forward to the day of delivery. Two guys show up 3 hours LATER than the window they originally gave, one wearing flip flops and the other with an attitude problem.

They unpack my belongings and I am told to review and sign. Guess what was missing? MY ENTIRE QUEEN SIZE MATTRESS. They tried to pawn off some other person’s mattress with blood stains on it.

Oh and one of the individuals used the bathroom who peed all over the place. Thanks for the crappy delivery PLUS I have to clean up after you DURING COVID.

At this point in the story, I just can’t help but laugh at the ridiculous, unsanitary, unorganized business practices.

If you value your time, your belongings and your sanity, save yourself…don’t use this company. They are literally a joke.

Move started out messed up, movers showed up to pack and suddenly they said I had more stuff then I told them, had already paid 3000.00 and had to give them another 1200.00 before they would even start, then had a delivery date set up, date came and went and when I called to confirm delivery they informed me they had 21 days from pick up to deliver, and they waited the 21 days out almost. stuff showed up , was missing brand new 65 inch tv, tool set and other belongings, their insurance company offered me a whopping 30.00 dollars. just make sure you read their fine print and pay attention to their quick talking, customer support also promised to call back when called to discuss missing items, then would never call back, still waiting on a call back three months later. also had to give them 900.00 cash when they delivered.

Loss of wages for miss information.

I was excited at first because the team who came to pick up our items were very kind. Them the main person became hostile while I was treated very hostile by the main mover who picked up our items.

We were told our items including my husbands work told would be declined no later than 8/1/20. This was false. We called on 8/1/20 and were informed that our stuff would be loaded that day, and delivered no later than 8/5/20. We waited and called on 8/6/20 to get and update of our belongings. (My husbands work tools are on the truck, he can't start work with out them because of covid-19. ) we were informed that the belongings had left that day and would arrive no later than 8/12/20. I called on 8/12/20 and inquired, was told our belongings were in Chicago, Illinois. We are in Missouri. Was told our items would be delivered by Sunday 8/16/20. I've been calling every day since 8/12/20 and have not received a straight answer. We have a child with a medical condition, and were relying on my husbands job so that she could see a specialist. I've been I tears with how much they have toyed, misinformed, and taken advantage of our family financially and emotionally.

I will update if we receive our belongings on 8/16/20.

My belongings arrived 3 months late - multiple broken items - and I was up-charged on 2 different occasions for no reason. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. Post on every platform!

Here is the deal: If you been assigned to this company at very last minute by your broker, just go ahead cancel it and eat that loss on the deposit. THIS WILL SAVE YOUR LIVE. If a few hundred bucks can save the majority of your brain cells, I'd say that's a bargain.

When you notice the following signs and still decide to move forward with it, you deserve to be scam.

1. The last thing they mention is UP TO 21 BUSINESS DAYS which is way different than what your broker told you 3-5 days.

2. If you move across states, know they don't drive your belonging by themselves. Your stuff will be loaded from truck A then dump to warehouse B, waiting for 2-4 weeks and Loaded to truck C and dump to destination city warehouse D and wait for 2-4 weeks then load to truck E to your house.

3. All reviews are 1 star, and 21 days arrival is the best case scenario here on yelp.

4. When they tell you pick up time is 5-9pm that means 9-12pm. Hey who doesn't love night moving.

5. If you into the upcharge scheme and hold your belongings like hostage, you are in for a treat.

If this review can help even 1 person from permanent brain damage, then I've done something good.

Peace~

WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!

Brooklyn Moving estimated one thing and OVERcharged me , items arrived 3 1/2 weeks later and I wasn't able to go places I wanted to go waiting on them to arrive, EVERYTHING of VALUE was destroyed (broken hardwood chairs, dining room table, living room table, china cabinet, entertainment center, AND MORE) and they don't clean up THEIR mess both leaving my old home and at the new home!! It was bad enough to get a 9pm call that your stuff finally arrived BUT my poor mom HAD a meltdown watching all her destroyed items come into the house. When they FINALLY did arrive it was at 9pm and we had to stay up with them until 4:30am, AND yes I had prepare for work 30 mins after they left. When they finished at 4:30am they promised to come back and move the heavy items, guess what? No show!! Save yourself THE heartache!!!!

Absolute worst company- Fraudulent

Brooklyn Moving is essentially a fraudulent business. I was out through to them through a broker without my knowledge and the service was as bad as it gets. I only had about 8 items, they completely damaged my furniture beyond repair. The movers gave me a time they would be there and came 4 hours late and did not call as they were supposed to. The movers wouldn’t even carry the stuff to my door without charging me another $50. I essentially did all the moving myself. They give a time window of 21 business days after your first available date of moving in. This was never discussed beforehand with the original moving company Gold Standard Relocation. They stated 14 days after the pick up date. They forgot my mattress, just literally did not have it. Told them and they said they would look for it. They eventually found it and said they would deliver it on the next truck to my area. Never stated when that would be. 3 weeks go by I get no call. I call to see if it will ever be delivered. They say they will call me back. I said I’m tired of hearing this so they put me on hold and tell me they will now magically deliver it this weekend. SPOILER ALERT: It didn’t come over that weekend. It still isn’t here. I’ve had to sleep on an air mattress for over two months because of these people. You’re better off paying twice the price for a proper move as they will just charge you then not deliver or break your items so you will be out the money and your stuff.
